MGTO Organizes Multi-Destination Promotion in Indonesia and Malaysia to Expand Overseas Markets

MGTO organized multi-destination promotion activities to be held in Jakarta and Kuala Lumpur

Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) is organizing a multi-destination promotion in Indonesia and Malaysia in April in tandem with Guangdong, Guangxi, Fujian and Hong Kong to expand Southeast Asian markets.

The first stop will be Jakarta, where tourism officials and the travel trade from Macao, Guangdong, Guangxi, Fujian and Hong Kong will showcase the attractions of the region and network in a trade seminar and mini-mart. The next stop will be Kuala Lumpur, where Macao, Guangdong, Guangxi and Fujian will launch a similar multi-destination event in Malaysia's capital city. The initiative seeks to provide a platform for participants to promote multi-destination itineraries and tourism products to expand their Southeast Asia visitor-source markets, in line with the Macao SAR Government's work to strengthen co-operation among 'Belt and Road' countries and regions.

MGTO is also launching a large-scale Macao promotion in the heart of Kuala Lumpur during this period, whereby multi-destination tourism in the region will also be promoted.

First stop: Jakarta on 10th April

The first stop of the multi-destination promotion will be in the Indonesian capital. On 10th April, a delegation of more than 40 tourism officials and travel trade operators from Macao, along with representatives from Guangdong, Guangxi, Fujian and Hong Kong, will participate in a destination promotion and product presentation seminar, followed by a mini-mart and networking dinner, slated to be attended by more than 80 Indonesian counterparts.

Second stop: Kuala Lumpur on 12th April

In the Malaysian capital, the Macao, Guangdong, Guangxi and Fujian multi-destination promotion - supported by a delegation of more than 40 tourism officials and travel trade representatives - will be joined by MGTO Director Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes. The programme in Kuala Lumpur will include meetings with the press as well as participation in a product presentation seminar, a networking luncheon and a business-to-business matching session on 12th April, with 120 Malaysian travel trade operators expected to attend.

Experience Macao, multi-destination tourism in KL

From 12th to 16th April, MGTO will also hold an Experience Macao - Malaysia Mega Tourism Promotion Event in Kuala Lumpur for Malaysians to enjoy a taste of Macao and more. The promotion will be staged in Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, targeting middle-upper customers who on a daily basis visit the shopping mall situated in the Bukit Bintang district at the heart of Kuala Lumpur, and its over 500 retail outlets and restaurants. Divided into six themes, the promotion is a technology-fuelled display, with virtual reality interactive experiences in Macao, inviting Malaysians to experience Macao's events, foods, heritage, adventure, as well as special travel packages, and other incentives.

In addition, an on-site booth will be specially dedicated to the multi-destination promotion of Macao, Guangdong, Guangxi and Fujian, with multi-destination packages on offer during the event. MGTO will also host a dinner on 12th April, bringing together Malaysian tourism officials, associations and trade representatives plus their Macao counterparts.
