The Macao Open 2017 - organised by the Macao SAR Government Sports Bureau and Golf Association of Macau, and held between 19^th and 22^nd October - brings together 144 professional and amateur golfers from all around the globe to compete on the rolling clifftop greens of Macau Golf & Country Club. Rising Thai star Pavit Tangkamolprasert returns to defend his Macao Open 2016 championship.

The Macao Open 2017 also marks the nineteenth anniversary of the event, which over the years has attracted such eminent Grand Slam and PGA Tour winners Ernie Els, Lee Westwood, Colin Montgomerie, Nick Faldo, Pádraig Harrington, Fred Couples, Ian Woosnam, Mark O'Meara, Darren Clarke, Ian Poulter, Branden Grace, Scott Hend, Anirban Lahiri, and Zhang Lianwei.
