The US$3.4 billion resort hotel MGM Cotai - which had its grand opening on 13th February - introduces to the market hundreds more hotel rooms, around 3000 square metres of meeting venues, high-end spa, retail and food and beverage outlets plus first-of-its-kind entertainment experiences. With MGM Theatre - Asia's first dynamic theatre - and the Spectacle, showcasing over 300 permanent art pieces, even more unique art experiences await art lovers of every hue.

MGM Theatre - one of the highlight facilities of MGM Cotai, and providing more than 10 different configurations - can accommodate up to 2000 guests. Utilising a giant 900 square metre 4K (or ultra HD) LED screen, it takes live entertainment a step closer to the world of mass virtual reality. Resident shows are planned for launch later on, promising audiences a superb entertainment experience.

The over four-storeys high Spectacle - located in the heart of the resort, and the size of a football field - comprises the world's largest area of permanent indoor LED screens, showcasing an exclusive array of digital art collected by MGM in co-operation with some of the world's most renowned artists. Complementing the technology, the world's largest indoor art garden, dubbed Nature's Art, will house more than a hundred thousand plants from over two thousand species, many of which are native to Macao and Hong Kong. Several species thought to be extinct were revived with the aid of botanical garden seed banks located in Hong Kong and Europe.

MGM Cotai also features both modern and contemporary Asian paintings and sculptures by renowned artists plus freshly commissioned works created by local and rising regional talent as well as large-scale installations. The piece de resistance of the MGM Cotai art collection are 28 Chinese imperial carpets dating from the Qing Dynasty which once adorned the Forbidden City in Beijing.

The Integrated Resort opened with some of its hotel rooms operational, and plans to have all of its 1390 guestrooms and suites - ranging from 43 to 570 square metres - available soon.
