18 floats shower Chinese New Year blessings

Spiced with gastronomic elements, the Parade - themed ‘Return Home for Chinese New Year’ - features 18 floats representing various Chinese New Year dishes symbolising auspicious wishes, showering abundant blessings upon residents and visitors as the glamour of Macao’s gastronomic and traditional culture is presented to the world.

This year, the dazzling floats of the first float parade, comprising 32 local and international performance groups, starts at 8:00pm on 7th February from Sai Van Lake Square in front of Macau Tower, from where it will wend its way along Avenida Dr. Sun Yat-Sen on the Macao Peninsula to Macao Science Center. Spectator stands will be set up at Sai Van Lake Square (‘Family Reunion’), the square of Rua da Torre de Macau (‘Fortune Treasure Ship’), the square of Kun Iam Ecumenical Centre (‘Golden Palace’) and the roundabout in front of Macao Science Center (‘Blessed Land’).

Bob Lam, Harriet Yeung and Germano Guilherme will serve as emcees in Sai Van Lake Square while Stephen Chan, Kevin Cheng and Chan U Ian will emcee in designated performance zones. Hong Kong and Macao singers MC Jin, Terence Chui, Vivian Chan and Germano Guilherme promise fantastic performances, followed by a 15-minute fireworks display at 9:45pm, rounding up a lively and joyful evening on the third day of Chinese New Year.

In addition, for the convenience of residents and visitors, MGTO will operate free shuttle bus service around five routes between event locations and various districts on Macao Peninsula, Taipa and Coloane. Starting from 8:00pm on the night, MGTO will live broadcast the Parade on LED screens set up at multiple locations for more people to enjoy the whole Parade.
