The annual A-Ma Cultural & Tourism Festival will be held from 30th October to 2nd November. The Festival – now in its 12th edition - will include a parade of the A-Ma Statue, opening ceremony, ritual ceremony, tripod placing ceremony, seminar on the development of A-Ma culture, cultural performances and shows, etc. As per previous practice, the Chief Executive of Macau will attend the opening ceremony, burn incense and pray for Macau.

The A-Ma Cultural & Tourism Festival dates back to 2003, and has since become an annual cultural tourism event in Macau. The A-Ma Customs and Beliefs of Macau were inscribed on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List in 2009. The celebration starts with a ritual ceremony held in the A-Ma Cultural Village on Mt. Coloane. Following the ceremony, the A-Ma Cultural Village will open to the public, while an honour guard unit plus performances can be seen on site.

Following the opening ceremony, the parade of the Golden Statue of A-Ma takes place with folkdance teams performing on the streets of Macau, winding their way from the A-Ma Cultural Village to Iao Hon Park. Together with representatives from different regions and performing teams, the statue will pass by Fai Chi Kei, Toi San and Iao Hon, with devotees permitted to worship during the parade.
