First halal certified hotel in Macau

Grand Coloane Resort is now halal certified

The Café Panorama of Grand Coloane Resort has been awarded a halal food certification by the Incorporated Trustees of the Islamic Community Fund of Hong Kong to become the first hotel in Macau to obtain the halal food certification.

Macau Government Tourist Office (MGTO) Director Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes said that Macau is attracting more and more Muslim visitors and that the certification will reassure Muslims choosing to eat in the 5-star hotel restaurant. Although Macau is renowned for its ethnic and culinary diversity the number of halal-certified restaurants and dining places in the city remain limited, and partly because of this MGTO held lectures targeting hotels and restaurants at the end of November, inviting scholars from Indonesia to introduce knowledge about halal food requirements and Islamic culture.

Grand Coloane Resort will offer at the hotel restaurant Café Panorama a halal menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as for room service. The F&B management of the hotel oversees the halal operations and works with a halal-trained kitchen, service and purchasing team to ensure that all guidelines are strictly adhered to.
