MGTO Hosts 2015 Annual Press Conference

Ms. Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes introducing MGTO’s marketing plans and activities at last year’s annual press conference

Macau Government Tourist Office (MGTO) will hold its annual conference this month, in which MGTO Director Ms. Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes will introduce last year’s tourism developments and the plans and marketing activities for 2015. Several hundred local guests, overseas tourism representatives, and members of the tourism industry, plus local and international media, are expected to attend.

A new representative in India will join MGTO’s overseas representatives team at this year’s annual press conference. India has been identified as one of the world’s fast-emerging outbound markets, in which MGTO opened a representative office in 2002 to promote Macau tourism.

MGTO will outline the progress it has made in various areas throughout the year, and highlight the activities to be undertaken in 2015. Regarding last year’s developments, MGTO will emphasise in particular the Quality Tourism Services Accreditation Scheme; the rise of Korean visitors - representing the greatest number of international tourists, and now exceeding 500,000; the Step Out, Experience Macau’s Communities project activities; and APEC Tourism Ministerial Meeting. With regard to the year ahead, MGTO will unveil a slew of projects and activities, such as the upcoming Chinese New Year Parade, among others.
