MSAR Medals Awarded for 2014, Four for Tourism

The government announced in November the recipients of Decorations, Medals and Certificates of Merit for 50 individuals and organisations in recognition of their achievements, outstanding contributions and distinguished services to the Macau Special Administrative Region (MSAR). The announcement was made in accordance with the nominations of the Committee of Nomination of Medals and Honorary Titles.

Among the recipients this year, the Medal of Merit - Tourism went to Air Macau Co, Ltd., Hoi Man Pak, Lao Nga Wong, and Future Bright Holdings Limited.

The Committee of Medals and Honorary Titles applauded the outstanding achievements and contributions of the recipients to the city’s tourism industry development.

Air Macau Co., Ltd. was established on 13th September, 1994 as the sole airline registered in Macau. It provides multiple routes to mainland Chinese cities, Taiwan and Southeast Asian capitals for both air passenger and cargo services, maintaining an excellent flight safety record, while accommodating an increasing number of passengers and clients.

Hoi Man Pak is a Macau Tourism Development Committee member and executive director of Universal International Travel Co. who has assiduously developed the tourism business over 20 years, with particular respect to Mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

Lao Nga Wong is a member of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee, President of Macau Association of Travel Agents, and IWC Holdings Chairman. He controls 29 travel agencies around the world, and over the course of two decades has facilitated the movements of more than ten million domestic and international travellers. In addition, he hosts major events such as the Macau International Tourism Industry Expo and high-level economic forums.

Future Bright Holdings Limited has more than 30 food and beverage outlets in Macau, and has developed its F&B business in Zhuhai, Guangzhou and Hong Kong, as well. It organises the annual Macau Food Festival, caters for the new campus of the University of Macau Hengqin restaurant, and is in the throes of building a large international food court in the Guangdong-Macau Co-operation Hengqin Industrial Park.
