The Macau Consumer Council has recognized 1,100 shops in its Certified Shops 2015 programme, awarding prizes to 14 retail outlets rated Grade A, including seven gold jewellery retail businesses; the remainder comprise mobile phone retail operations, a foreign currency exchange shop, and pharmacy businesses.
President of the Executive Committee of the Macau Consumer Council Wong Hon Neng said that through annual field inspections, mystery shopper programmes, and analyses of Certified Shops’ responses to consumer complaints and handling, among other criteria, a total of 1,105 shops received the 2015 Certified Shops endorsement. The Council said that a qualifying rate of 80 per cent had been achieved, with the credentials of 274 outlets deemed ineligible.
