Macau has Most 5-Star Properties in World with Forbes Star Ratings

23 Macau hotels, restaurants and spas pick up top Forbes 5-star Rating accolade

Macau has featured prominently in the 2015 Forbes Travel Guide. The city has more 5-star properties than any destination in the world, with 23 hotels, restaurants and spas picking up the top Forbes Star Rating accolade. The ratings are prestigious for the properties awarded and reinforce Macau's growing reputation as a quality tourism destination.

Forbes Travel Guide recently unveiled its 57th list of worldwide Star Rating recipients at The Ritz-Carlton, Naples, recognising 18 new 5-star hotels, 46 new 4-star hotels and 26 new hotels in the 'recommended' category.

Macau is well positioned on the list, with eight 5-star hotels; namely, Altira Macau; Banyan Tree Macau; Conrad Macao; Crown Towers Macau; Encore Macau; Four Seasons Hotel Macao; Mandarin Oriental; and Wynn Macau.

In terms of restaurants, Forbes has rated nine Macau restaurants worthy of the a 5-star designation; namely, Aurora, Altira Macau; Belon, Banyan Tree Macau; Golden Flower at Encore Macau; Il Teatro at Wynn Macau; Jade Dragon, Crown Towers; Tenmasa, Altira Macau; The Tasting Room, Crown Towers; Vida Rica, Mandarin Oriental; and Wing Lei at Wynn Macau.

As new regions of the world have been rated, the number of 5-star hotels now totals 115 - the most in Forbes Travel Guide's history. Forbes Travel Guide also named 10 new 5-star restaurants, bringing the total to 55. Seven new spas achieved Forbes Travel Guide's highest honour, pushing the tally to 48 5-star spas, including six in Macau.
