All set for 62nd Macau Grand Prix in November

Macau Grand Prix Committee introduce 62nd Macau Grand Prix

With a half year to go for the Suncity Group 62nd Macau Grand Prix, organisers recently unveiled the line-up and race programme. This year, the 19th to 22nd November Macau Grand Prix will feature a new prestigious international race, the GT Cup - FIA GT World Cup. The new race comes side-by-side with the other three calling cards of the Macau Grand Prix - Formula 3 Macau Grand Prix, Macau Motorcycle Grand Prix and Macau Guia Race.

This year, the Macau Grand Prix Committee once again invited local companies to bid for title sponsorship to enable them to participate in and support this internationally renowned event. Suncity Group is title sponsor of the 62nd Macau Grand Prix and also of the Formula 3 Macau Grand Prix, as well as the 49th Macau Motorcycle Grand Prix and the Guia Race.

SJM is title sponsor of the Macau GT Cup, which this year will be the first-ever FIA GT World Cup run, while CTM Limited is the title sponsor of the CTM Macau Touring Car Cup. As for the commercial race, this will be sponsored by RICHBURG LOTUS, and named the Suncity Lotus Celebrity Cup Race.

On the Official Supplier side, Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd. is the sole tyre supplier for the Formula 3 Macau Grand Prix for the 33rd consecutive year.

For vehicle sponsorship, Auto Italia Limited and Kong Fong Motors Company Limited will join the Macau Grand Prix for the first time, with Maserati as the Safety Car, Medical and Rescue vehicles, as well as the Officials' working vehicles.

With regard to ticket sales, the MGP Committee has already accepted bookings from Macau, Hong Kong, Australia, Malaysia, and Japan, and will continue to work with the travel industry to promote packages to attract more visitors to Macau.

Details of additional sponsorships will be announced at a later date but the organisers have said that the total amount of the sponsorship, including title sponsorship of the event and races, the commercial race, tyres and vehicles represents an increase of over 13.6 per cent compared to last year.

In addition, last year's Suncity Group 61st Macau Grand Prix was enjoyed by 80,000 spectators over the four days, with ticket income accounting for MOP12 million of the total revenue of more than MOP51 million - a record breaking of both the sales of tickets over the four days as well as the previous total revenue record.
