In celebration of International Museum Day on 18th May, 18 Macau museums will jointly organise the Macau International Museum Day Carnival 2015, which will kick off on Sunday 17th May. Some 29 museums and cultural institutions from Guangdong plus the 19 museums under the Hong Kong Leisure and Cultural Services Department will also join the event.

Activities to look out for include the '3rd Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau Museums Professionals Forum' plus 'International Museum Day, 2015 Seminars' on 14th and 15th May, in which invited guests from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau will exchange ideas in the categories of collections, curatorial, education and promotion.

With the tenth anniversary of Macau's World Heritage being celebrated this year, to mark the International Museum Day as well as the successful listing, a Mobile Museum - A-Ma Bamboo Theatre will be set up, featuring exhibitions, stage performances, workshops, and storytelling at A-Ma Temple. The initative enables the public to be exposed to a variety of knowledge about traditional opera including the construction techniques of bamboo scaffolding, the beliefs and customs of A-Ma and operas honouring deities, and more.
