Thirty Macau small and medium enterprises in the food and beverage sector are among the many outlets to be unveiled this month at Broadway Macau, with 60 per cent of them renowned, time-honoured local brands. The Broadway Macau will open on 27th May, along with JW Marriott Hotel Macau and The Ritz-Carlton, as part of Galaxy Macau, Phase II grand opening.

This month, Galaxy Entertainment Group sees the fruition of a corporate dream with the official launch on 27th May of Galaxy Macau and Broadway at Galaxy Macau, Phase II of the mega project in which the Group has sunk HK$43 billion to deliver what it describes as the 'Most Spectacular Entertainment and Leisure Destination in the World'. The company has plans overall to invest MOP100 billion in accomplishing this goal.

The expanded properties doubles the size of the resort destination to over 1.1 million square metres, bringing the number of world class hotels to six providing some 4,000 rooms, suites and villas plus two spas.

One of the stars of the Phase II opening this month is undoubtedly The Ritz-Carlton's first all-suite establishment. The Ritz-Carlton, Macau, in fact, will provide over 250 suites, while JW Marriott Hotel Macau, with over 1,000 rooms, will be the acclaimed brand's largest in Asia. Both hotels are now accepting online reservations. These 5-star establishments will be complemented by three other world class hotels already well entrenched in Galaxy Entertainment Group's Phase I - Banyan Tree Macau, Hotel Okura Macau, and Galaxy Hotel.

The latest hotel from the Group will be the Broadway Hotel offering 320 well-appointed rooms plus a portfolio of unique venues and experiences for meetings, incentives and banquets catering for up to 3,000 guests. The expanded Grand Resort Deck complete with the Skytop Adventure Rapids - accessible by skybridge from the Broadway Hotel - will feature the world's longest skytop aquatic adventure river ride at 575 metres and the world's largest skytop wave pool.

The Broadway, described by the operators as 'a vibrant street and entertainment district showcasing the creativity and artistry of the people of Macau with hawker-style vendors, live entertainers and world class performances' is expected to deliver a new landmark destination and be a first for Macau. The Promenade will accommodate over 200 luxury and lifestyle retail brands, over 120 food and beverage outlets - with the largest selection in Macau, offering authentic pan-Asian and world class dining experiences including many local cuisines and Michelin star-rated chefs - plus The Broadway Theatre, with 3,000 seats 'showcasing the best in entertainment and live performances.'

Chairman of GEG, Dr. Lui Che-woo, said: “Our commitment to the development and continued success of Macau remains stronger than ever, which is why today, 10 years after making our debut in Macau, we are proud to formally introduce two more groundbreaking projects to our ever-expanding portfolio to support the diversification of Macau to be developed as a 'World Centre of Tourism and Leisure'."

Vice-Chairman Francis Lui added: “Since we founded Galaxy Entertainment Group, our vision has been closely aligned with that of the Macau SAR Government. We have always done our utmost to bring tremendous new offerings to the market - to attract more tourists, give them reasons to stay longer, enjoy spending more with the diversified attractions Macau has to offer and contribute to a strong economy for current and future generations."
