Plans Unveiled for ‘Boulevard at Studio City’

Hollywood movie-themed ‘Pacha Macau’ nightclub opening in Studio City

Melco Crown Entertainment and Taubman Asia, a subsidiary of U.S. mall REIT, Taubman Centers, Inc., recently unveiled plans to deliver a unique, entertainment-centered shopping experience in the highly-anticipated entertainment, retail and gaming resort, Studio City, slated to open in the third quarter of the year.

The 300,000 sq. ft. Boulevard at Studio City is an 'immersive' retail entertainment environment, with featured streets and squares inspired by iconic shopping and entertainment locations, including New York's Times Square and Hollywood's Beverly Hills.

In addition, as announced previously, the Hollywood-themed studio-concept resort under construction in Cotai will feature a 'Golden Eye' Ferris wheel ride integrated into the complex's two-tower hotel at a height of some 130 metres, which is Asia's highest. The resort's entertainment offerings include the Studio City Events Centre, a 5,000-seat multi-purpose entertainment centre designed to host live concerts, theatrical and sporting events. 'Studio 8' is a 300-seat live-audience TV broadcasting studio for reality and game show productions distributed in the Asia region. The entertainment experiences also include a magic theatre - 'The House of Magic' - and a Warner Bros. Batman-themed motion ride titled 'Batman Dark Flight', a 36,000 sq. ft. 'Warner Bros. Fun Zone' for kids filled with Warner Bros. and DC Comics franchise characters and play-rides - plus 'Pacha Macau' which will bring Ibiza-style clubbing nightlife to Macau.
