Bangalore Hosts PATA Gold Awards Luncheon

Last year, some 800 guests attended the PATA Gold Award Luncheon

PATA Travel Mart is to be held in the major city of Bangalore in India from 6th to 8th September, at which the Macau Government Tourist Office (MGTO) will establish a booth to promote Macau tourism. One of the highlights of the event will once again be the MGTO sponsored-PATA Gold Awards Luncheon and Awards Presentation.

Pacific Asia Travel Association presented a total of 29 awards and gold medal this year in recognition of the outstanding performances of the related people and organizations in different disciplines such as marketing, corporate social responsibility and travel media. MGTO, now in its second decade of sponsoring the PATA Gold Awards Luncheon, continues to contribute at different levels to the healthy development of tourism in the Asia Pacific region.

The appointed member of the Executive Board, Chairman of the Nominating Committee of PATA, and MGTO Director Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes will attend the event as guest of honour. This year, there will be 269 entries from 83 travel and tourism organizations and individuals in competition - the highest number since 2007. Director Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes believe that the awarded items will inspire the tourism industry in Asia Pacific to improve service levels even more.

The 2015 PATA Travel Mart, to be held in Bangalore International Exhibition Centre, is expected to attract hundreds of international buyers and sellers from the Asia Pacific region to participate. MGTO will set up a booth to promote Macau at the three-day event.

PATA, a non-profit organization founded in 1951, includes members of the government tourism offices of 87 countries and regions, 31 airlines and cruise companies, 61 educational institutions and hundreds of travel industry companies. Macau became a member in 1958, with currently 43 chapters and 13 student chapters.
