Global Tourism Economy Forum slated for October

The Global Tourism Economy Forum (GTEF), to be held from 12th to 14th October, will this year be themed 'One Belt, One Road - Unleashing New Dynamics of Cultural Tourism'. Government and business leaders plus experts from different countries and regions will help boost Macau's reputation on the international stage with a view to helping build the territory into a World Centre of Tourism and Leisure.

The Forum features 'Face to Face, Ministers and Private Sector CEOs', in which the tourism ministers of Cambodia, Korea and the four countries of the Pacific League - Mexico, Peru, Chile and Colombia - will discuss 'how to play a leading role in One Belt, One Road co-operation' with global private sector leaders.

At the same time, the Forum will frame many special topics exchange activities such as 'Understanding Chinese Consumer Behaviour', 'Exploring the Full Dimension of Cultural Tourism - Cultural Heritage and Creative Living Culture' and 'Driving Cultural Awareness through Social Media', among others. The Global Tourism Economy Research Centre and UNWTO will co-issue the 'Annual Report on Asia Tourism Trends' in order that policymakers and the general public can grasp the importance of the tourism market.

This year's 4th Global Tourism Economy Forum is expected to attract more than 3,000 participants from 45 countries and regions. It will receive some 49 delegations from different provinces in the Mainland, with 130 world-renowned national leaders, business leaders and experts invited to share their ideas and insights in the Forum.
