Studio City slated to Open on 27th October 2015

Lawrence Ho announces Studio City will open on 27th October

Studio City International Holdings Limited has announced that the US$3.2 billion cinematic-inspired entertainment resort Studio City is scheduled to open on 27th October this year. The Hollywood movie-themed resort has built the world's tallest Figure-8 Ferris Wheel and will feature a world's first Batman-themed 4D experience Roller Coaster. The complex will provide 1,600 guestrooms, an auditorium which can accommodate more than 5,000 people, shopping, dining and other diverse entertainment elements.

Lawrence Ho, Melco Crown Entertainment Co-chairman and Chief Executive Officer says many new elements have been added. In addition, Macau Studio City is close to the Lotus Port border crossing, taking half a minute to reach the complex. He hoped that by using its geographic advantages Macau could expand its tourism capacity via the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge and light rail system.

He emphasized that Studio City has many non-gaming elements and believed that to be successful a resort cannot focus only on gaming or non-gaming items but a mix.

In addition, the building blocks model exhibition of Macao Studio City will be held in the City of Dreams. The model, some 2.15 metres high, was created by professional Lego master Andy Hung, using more than 1 million pieces to construct a miniature Studio City in addition to a 30-metre 'Heroes of Steel' and stunning Art-Deco façade.
