The 20th Macao International Trade and Investment Fair (MIF) will be held in the Convention Centre of The Venetian-Macao-Resort-Hotel from 22nd to 25th October 2015. In line with the policy of stimulating the development of the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) industry in Macau, the 20th MIF will expand its TCM Pavilion in order to provide more business opportunities for this industry.

In a development from previous MIFs, a Creative Power Exhibition Area will be added this year to create a unique display area for Macau SMEs in the domain of cultural creativity. Developing the cultural creative industry has, in fact, been identified by the government as one of the key driving forces in the diversification of the Macau economy. Further incentives will be offered to qualified exhibitors or cultural and creative entrepreneurs seeking to use the area to exhibit, sell or promote their branded products. The MIF represents a great opportunity for them to test market responses and explore potential business co-operation opportunities. At the same time, interactive activities such as on-site demonstrations and small workshops will be held in the Area to encourage interaction and experience sharing between the public and exhibitors.

To help TCM establish overseas markets, the 20th MIF will expand its Traditional Chinese Medicine Pavilion, putting TCM, beauty and fitness, healthcare, medicinal diets, as well as research and development under one roof. This will enable the exchange of ideas and fostering of business opportunities to happen in one place.

In addition, a seminar about young entrepreneurs will offer an information service to aspiring young businesspeople. MIF has invited entrepreneurs from Hong Kong and Macau to share their experiences in order to support young entrepreneurs and build good communication with them.

Also this year, approximately 100 booths are planned for the Macau SME Pavilion, which will host a wide range of businesses, primarily focusing on souvenirs, food and beverages, products from Portuguese-speaking countries, and cultural creative products. Other products such as household items, electronic gadgets, handicrafts and accessories will also be showcased.

One of the largest international events on the local business calendar, MIF is the first event in Macau to be approved by the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI). Last year, it attracted some 50 countries and regions and nearly 300 delegates, with 1,500 businesses contributing.
