More New flights Inaugurated

More new flights inaugurated in Macau, are connecting the city to different destinations this year. Jetstar Pacific Airlines commenced its new service to Ho Chi Minh City on 22nd September, offering a twice-weekly scheduled service between Macau and Ho Chi Minh City every Tuesday and Saturday. Greater China Director of Jetstar Pacific Airlines, Apotter Zhang said the airline currently operates a double daily flight service from Macau to Danang, and twice weekly service to Haiphong, with plans to commence a Macau-Okinawa flight service from December this year.

Hainan Airlines commenced its new service between Macau and Haikou on 29th September. The new flight service provides thrice-weekly services on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, taking off from Macau at approximately 6:10pm, and arriving at Haikou 8:20pm local time; the flight takes about 1 hour 10 minutes.

Meanwhile, low-cost carrier AirAsia is to commence direct flights between the city and popular Thai tourist destination Pattaya (U-Tapao International Airport) from 27th November, via the AirAsia (Thailand) Company. This is the fifth route of the AirAsia Group in Macau. In addition, T'way Air has announced plans to launch new flights between Macau and Seoul commencing end-November.


Airport Passenger Volume Surpasses 4.3m in First Three Quarters

Macau International Airport recorded a growth in passenger traffic volume and aircraft movement in the first three quarters of 2015. Passenger volume surpassed 4.3 million, while aircraft movements exceeded 41,000 representing a 6 per cent and 7.5 per cent increase, respectively. Southeast Asia market and Taiwan market passengers posted a 14 per cent and 4 per cent increase, respectively, compared to the same period last year, while the Mainland market dropped 1 per cent.



Air Macau Opens New Airport Lounge

Air Macau opened a new lounge in Macau International Airport on 16th September. Located on level 2 of the Departure Hall, the brand-new Air Macau Lounge can seat approximately 122 people and offers a comfortable environment and tempting food for Business Class Passengers prior to their flight. Free WIFI access is also available throughout the lounge.
