The Cultural Affairs Bureau of MSAR (IC) has announced 'Intangible Cultural Heritage Survey in Macau' data collection activities from 20th October, 2015 to 31st March, 2016. The collection of data includes: project name, type, area and time spread, form, subsisting status plus related images, documents, video and other data.

The public can submit its intangible cultural heritage by completing the form, whilst providing valuable information for the investigation. Following this investigation, studies and evaluation, the intangible cultural heritage, meeting the stipulated standards of the Heritage Act, will be included in the relevant list of intangible cultural heritage items in order to ensure the protection of intangible cultural heritage in Macau.

The public can visit www.macauheritage.net/ichsurvey (Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese and Portuguese) for enquiries, download the 'intangible cultural heritage' form and submit their information. They can also submit information by email on ichsurvey@icm.gov.mo, fax: (853) 2836 6836, or visit the Cultural Affairs Bureau during office hours. Telephone enquiries: (853) 8399 6431 and 8399 6699.

Intangible cultural heritage encompasses handicrafts, folk customs and performing arts, practised by succeeding generations. Heritage is also a witness to urban development and the important cultural resources of a city. Over the years, Macau has embarked upon ten intangible cultural heritage projects, of which eight are inscribed on the Chinese Intangible Cultural Heritage List.
