‘Return of the Cuckcoo’ Showcases Glamour of Macau

‘Return of the Cuckoo’ enjoyed a star-studded premiere

The movie 'Return of the Cuckcoo' recently premiered in Macau, first showing on 3rd November at The Venetian Theatre, Macau. Directed by Patrick Kong (Yip Lim-Sum), protagonists Julian Cheung, Charmaine Sheh, Nancy Sit, Joe Chen and others appear in the film, themed to promote Macau and help attract tourists interested in multicultural tourism. The movie was shown in various cinemas in Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Macau on 12th November, with other areas in its 20th November release.

Macau Government Tourist Office has been working with different locations such as Korea and Japan, inviting media crews to film in Macau in order to promote Macau and attract tourists. This soft-sell is more accepted by the public, more influential and targets the various needs and characteristics of different markets.

'Return of the Cuckcoo' was adapted from the same name of a TV drama which premiered in 2000. The story is modelled on Macau, and recounts the love of Man Cho and Chuk Kwan-ho, who meet again after 15 years. In addition, Macau artists Vivian Chan and Sean Pang participate in the movie.
