MGM COTAI Topping-off Completed, Wynn Palace Opening Postponed 3 Months

MGM COTAI will offer 1,500 hotel rooms and a variety of attractions

MGM COTAI recently completed its topping-off ceremony and hosted a celebration for the momentous occasion, reiterating its intention to open in the fourth quarter of this year. MGM COTAI will offer approximately 1,500 hotel rooms and suites, meeting space, high end spa, retail offerings, food and beverage outlets, the first international Mansion at MGM for the ultimate luxury experience, as well as Asia's first dynamic theatre and 'a spectacle to wow every guest who steps foot in our resort'.

Chairperson and Executive Director of MGM China Holdings Ltd. Pansy Ho said that the MGM COTAI project will invest more in non-gaming elements to provide a richer experience for a memorable experience for Macao's community and guests, making Macao a more attractive tourist destination.

Wynn Resorts Ltd.'s general contractor, Leighton Holdings Ltd., recently announced a delay in the completion date of the Wynn Palace project in the Cotai area of Macao . The long awaited resort was originally scheduled to open in the first quarter. However, it has been delayed for three months and is now expected to open in the middle of the year.


30-storey 2-star Hotel to Rise near Victoria Hotel

The government's Official Gazette has announced the approval of a plan to build a 2-star hotel near Victoria Hotel Macau in the northern district of the city. The developer has been given permission to build a 30-storey building plus three-storey basement. The hotel will occupy some 5,192 square metres of gross floor area, with 382 square metres used for a car park and commercial purposes.
