MGTO Launches WeChat Game

Local residents and visitors can join the WeChat game along 4 designated ‘Step Out, Experience Macao’s Communities’ walking tour routes

MGTO rolls out a 'Macao Hunt' activity to look for a Gold Monkey from 1st to 28th February, encouraging local residents and visitors to complete this interactive fun game on WeChat along four designated 'Step Out, Experience Macao's Communities' walking tour routes. Once completed, participants can enter the lucky draw for a chance to win attractive prizes - including a pure gold monkey statue, iPhone6s and 'Quality Tourism Services Accreditation Scheme' electronic merchant coupons.

Both residents and visitors can participate in the game (in Chinese only) through MGTO's WeChatID 'MGTOweixin', and become eligible to enter the lucky draw for an opportunity to win the fabulous prizes.

Once a golden monkey is spotted and the check-in step performed, participants can instantly retrieve an electronic coupon from 'Quality Tourism Services Accreditation Scheme' merchants nearby. Participants can increase their chances of winning the lucky draw prizes by completing a survey or by sharing the game with friends on WeChat and by 'clicking' on the link.

In addition, on 10th February (the third night of Lunar New Year) additional locations of the golden monkeys will be added near to each spectator seating area for 'Parade for Celebration of the Year of the Monkey' where spectators can search for the golden monkeys. The four areas named Flower Fruit Mountain, Water Curtain Cave, Fortune Palace and Heavenly Palace, and are located in the squares in front of Macao Science Centre, Kun Iam Ecumenical Centre, Rua da Torre de Macau, and Sai Van Lake Square.
