11 Establishments Awarded Class A ‘Certified Shop’

Continuous improvement is evident in the Consumer Council’s ‘Certified Shops’ scheme assessment criteria over the past 15 years

The Consumer Council is continuing to award local companies meeting professional retail criteria. To sum up the result of 2015, over 1,000 'Certified Shops' passed the assessment and have been awarded the 2016 emblem; 730 are graded A to B, of which 11 have been awarded 'Class A Certified Shop' .

The 'Certified Shop' programme launched in 2001 ensures the quality of 'Certified Shops', with the Consumer Council continuously improving its assessment scheme and criteria. Last year, a 'self-evaluation form' was added, while different assessment elements have also been added according to different industries to ensure fairness, professionalism, and objectivity of the assessment scheme. In the future, the Council will cite international management models and quality control indices to maintain the vitality of the assessment work.

Over 1,300 firms rated by the 2014 'Certified Shops' scheme applied again in 2015. More than 1,000 firms have so far successfully qualified for the 'Certified Shop' decal. The Consumer Council has indicated that the ongoing improvements in the evaluation scheme in the past 15 years have encouraged 'Certified Shops' to appreciate the decal and strive to improve themselves by strengthening service attitudes and staff training. Some 23 'Certified Shops' were also awarded the honour of entitlement having qualified for the 'Certified Shop' decal for 15 years.
