Crowne Plaza Macau - a 5-star hotel situated in the city's northern district which occupies part of The Residencia project in the heart of Areia Preta district, is now open and provides 208 hotel rooms. The hotel incorporates a 780 square metre ballroom and several multifunction rooms with high speed wireless broadband Internet in the hotel lobby and fitness centre.

The hotel is only a five-minute drive from the Border Gate and Macau Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal, and is only eight kilometres from Macau International Airport. Crowne Plaza Macau General Manager Dominique Berhouet said the hotel is a brand under the InterContinental Hotels Group. The Group has 5,000 hotels around the world, and plans to actively promote the brand in Macao.
