2016 MIECF Showcases Green Economy

The Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum & Exhibition (MIECF) - a premier event initiated by the MSAR Government and co-organised by the Macau Trade and Investment Promotion Institute and Environmental Protection Bureau - will be held from 31st March to 2nd April at The Venetian Macao. 2016 MIECF will adopt the theme 'Green Economy - Opportunities for Waste Management', and invite specialists and academics to share their techniques and experience in controlling waste streams.

The mega event will cover different environmental protection fields including Energy Efficiency, Renewable Energy, Green Building, Green Mobility, Waste and Water Management Solutions, Environmental Services, Air Quality and Environmentally Friendly Products and services. Specialty industry zones include a 'Waste Management Area' and 'Green Building Zone' to cater for the needs of environmental protection regarding regional development.

Last year, 2015 MIECF attracted more than 50 government departments from Macao and countries and regions plus various regional and international trade associations, organizations and chambers of commerce as co-organizers and support entities. Some 59 countries and regions were represented, with more than 7,200 representatives participating. The 'Green Showcase', occupying an area of approximately 16,900 square metres, served 462 exhibitor participants. During the three-day event, a total of 296 green matching sessions were held in the business matching area and agreements for 28 co-operation projects signed, in addition to attracting 9,600 visitors.
