Twelve key projects, endorsed by the MSAR Government, involve the tourism and entertainment, cultural and creative industries, logistics, trade and business services, plus new and high-tech technology, among other areas. The projects - sited in the Guangdong-Macao Co-operation Industrial Park in Hengqin New Area - occupy a total area of 330,000 square metres, and represent a total investment of RMB9.65 billion, with the earliest completion date of these projects likely to be in the second quarter of 2018.

Whilst attending the unveiling ceremony, Lionel Leong Vai Tac, Secretary for Economy and Finance, said that Macao had recommended 33 investment projects for the Park in April 2014, for which the relevant agreements had been signed for 19, while 12 have started construction. The Secretary said that the MSAR Government will continue co-operating with Hengqin New Area, the Zhuhai authorities, and Guangdong Province in order to drive diversified economic development through regional co-operation.
