The Forbes Travel Guide has announced Star ratings for the hospitality industry in 29 tourist destinations. Macao has five Five-Star winners. Of a total of 154 ratings awarded worldwide, both Five-Star winners (hotel, three restaurants, and a spa within one property) are located in the two SARs: Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong, and Wynn Macau.

Wynn Macau was recognized for Wynn Macau (Five-Star), Encore Hotel (Five-Star), Spa at Wynn (Five-Star), Spa at Encore (Five-Star), Wing Lei Restaurant (Five-Star), Golden Flower Restaurant (Five-Star), Ristorante il Teatro (Five-Star), and Mizumi (Four-Star). MGM Macau is also a Five-Star winner.

Sands Resorts Cotai Strip Macao was recognised for The Venetian Macao (Four-Star), Four Seasons Hotel Macao (Five-Star), Conrad Macao (Five-Star), Holiday Inn Macao (Four-Star). Galaxy Macao was recognised for Galaxy Hotel (Four-Star), Hotel Okura Macau (Four-Star), Terrazza Italian Restaurant (Four-Star), Banyan Tree Macau (Five-Star), Belon Restaurant (Five-Star), and Banyan Tree Spa (Five-Star).
