MGTO Harnesses Travelport to Explore Middle East Markets

MGTO makes a presentation about Macao during a Travelport gala in Dubai

In its commitment to increasing diversity and attracting more international visitors Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) is actively exploring the Middle East markets via the use of different online platforms around the world to promote tourism to Macao.

This year, MGTO has started harnessing the global travel reservation systems products of Travelport to target the Middle East in the promotion of Macao to travel agencies in the region. The objective is to introduce Macao to Middle East residents to generate greater awareness of the territory and more diversified international visitors.

MGTO will leverage Digital Media Solutions delivered via Travelport's Travel Commerce Platform as part of a campaign to attract visitors from the Middle East, whilst tailored messaging will be delivered to targeted travel agency desktops to promote Macao as a must-see destination in Asia. As part of this campaign there will also be an online competition for travel agents to help stimulate interest in and increase knowledge of Macao.

In addition, MGTO and Macao industry representatives recently participated in the Travelport gala organized on the first day of Arabian Travel Market 2016, held in Dubai, exploring tourism promotion opportunities for co-operation in the Middle East market with Travelport. More than 200 visitors from all over the world attended the event.
