MGTO Promotional Activities in June

MGTO will participate in two important travel fairs in Korea

Malaysia, Hong Kong and South Korea are primary sources of visitor to Macao: this month, Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) promotes the city's attractions and more to these Asian countries and region.

Malaysia

MGTO's Malaysia representative is working with Says.com and Oh Bulan to run an online digital campaign from April to June to promote the 27th Macao Arts Festival and 'Door to Macao' Roadshow together with the Macao MEGA Sale, as well as the 16th Macao Lotus Flower Festival and Macao International Dragon Boat Races.

Says.com is one of the most visited English news portals in Malaysia. This campaign will create content that is relevant to visitors' interests and supply useful information, in addition to being newsworthy and entertaining in the expectation that visitors will share this with their friends by posting on a social media platform. Oh Bulan has grown to become the No.1 Malay segment online portal with 4 million people visiting the site. One of the main objectives of this online digital campaign is to target the urban Muslim market and followers of the Oh Bulan platform and to educate them about what Macao has to offer today, promoting, in particular, Macao's Muslim-friendly areas.

MGTO's Malaysia representative will also broadcast on Free TV Channel - TV3 the new 'Experience Macao Your Own Style' promotional video for two weeks to promote Macao as a short escape vacation destination with family and friends.

Hong Kong

The MGTO Hong Kong representative is hosting the Hong Kong Teacher Seminar and Luncheon on 4th June. More than 160 primary and secondary teachers and principals plus study tour organizations will join the event to learn about the rich resources available in Macao and promote Macao as a Study Tour Destination. In addition, MGTO will organize some 32 Macao trade representatives from hotels, travel agents, ferry companies and event organizers to participate in the 30th Hong Kong International Travel Expo (ITE), from 16th to 19th June, with a booth decorated under MGTO's current theme of 'Experience Macao Your Own Style', to promote the city's heritage attractions and festivals programme, and upcoming events, such as the 4th Macao International Travel (Industry) Expo and the International Film Festival & Awards - Macao

During ITE's 'consumer' days of 18th and 19th June MGTO will organize travel seminars for the trade and public visitors to introduce 'Step Out, Experience Macao's Communities' walking tour routes and more, promoting the city's culture and attractions. MGTO will also co-operate with four travel agents during the travel show to provide special travel packages.

Korea

The MGTO Korea representative will participate in the HANATOUR International Travel Show 2016 and 31st Korea World Travel Fair (KOTFA2016) from 9th to 12th June.

Hanatour is the national leader of the travel industry with more than 1,200 offices in Korea. HITS 2016 will provide a great opportunity to meet enthusiastic Korean tourists. In addition, MGTO Korea office will introduce the charms of Macao via a variety of events. The 31st Korea World Travel Fair is expected to attract more than 500 organizations from over 60 countries to KOTFA 2016 attended by over 120,000 visitors during the 4-day fair, which will be participated in by MGTO's Korea office to increase the awareness of Macao for travellers looking for an exciting option for the Summer vacations.
