The green occasion Macao Lotus Flower Festival, organized by the Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau (IACM), festoons the city between 18th and 26th June, during which period lotuses and potted lotuses will be planted or placed in major parks, greening areas along the streets as well as popular sightseeing spots throughout Macao to beautify the city. As the main exhibition venue, the Taipa Houses-Museum will adopt the theme 'Misty and Rainy Jiangnan', housing a traditional scene reminiscent of the hazy, misty Jiangnan region in drizzle, employing Jiangnan-style porticos with bamboo strips, wooden ships, bamboo bridges and other elements as decoration.

IACM will specially organise a series of lotus-themed activities; namely, Misty and Rainy Jiangnan - Lotus Flower Exhibition Area; Lotus Culture Photo and Literature Exhibition; Search for Traces of Summer Lotus; Charm of Jiangnan Ladies - Model Performance; Longevity Lotus Flower Cuisine; Lotus Flower Ecology Guided Tour; Meeting Her in the Wetlands (guided tour); Meeting Lotus Flower Talk; Lotus Culture and Wetlands Information Station; Lotus Flower Floral Art Competition; Lotus Flower Body Painting Workshop; Lotus Flower Paper Art Workshop; Lotus Flower Ornament Workshop; Clay Lotus Flower Workshop; Meeting Lotus Flower - Flash Photography Workshop, and among others.
