SHREK THE MUSICAL will play to audiences in Macao for the very first time as part of its first ever international tour with 21 performances scheduled for The Venetian Theatre at The Venetian Macao from 22^nd July to 7^th August.

Based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film that started it all, the musical is set in a faraway kingdom turned upside down when an ogre - not a handsome prince - shows up to rescue a feisty princess.

SHREK THE MUSICAL features a book and lyrics by Pulitzer Prize winner David Lindsay-Abaire (Rabbit Hole, Good People) and music by Olivier Award-winner Jeanine Tesori (Thoroughly Modern Millie, Caroline, or Change). SHREK THE MUSICAL is choreographed by Chris Bailey and directed by Stephen Sposito who served as Associate Director of the Broadway revival How To Succeed In Business starring Daniel Radcliff, while Tony Award winner Tim Hatley (Private Lives, Spamalot) takes a bow for costume design.
