Anim’Arte NAM VAN Now Open

Visitors can enjoy the pedaloes on Nam Van Lake

Jointly developed by four entities under the Secretariat for Social Affairs and Culture of the Macao SAR Government, a new landmark for leisure, culture and creativity known as 'Anim'Arte NAM VAN' was officially opened to the public last month. 'Anim'Arte NAM VAN' features cultural and creative shops, arts pavilion, book market, handicraft workshops and craft market on weekends as well as graffiti display area and more. Pedal boats are also available at 'Anim'Arte NAM VAN' for visitors and residents to enjoy a relaxing ride on the lake.

'Anim'Arte NAM VAN' also offers special performances and activities free of charge designed to enliven the leisure hub on weekends including a parade in classic costumes, the 'Eléctrico' puppet show, Portuguese fado and jazz, face painting, stilt performances, clown acts and balloon twisting, promising great fun and delight for residents and visitors young and old.

Starting on 4th June until early 2017, IFT Café will operate as a training ground for students, serving a menu of fine quality snacks and European-style beverages. And to make greater use of the available space in accord with the district development, the government plans to call for public tenders this year to invite merchants to open their business at 'Anim'Arte NAM VAN', introducing more cultural and creative shops into the new landmark and offering catering services that serve a greater variety of culinary delights, in order to keep increasing the appeal of 'Anim'Arte NAM VAN'.

During the opening ceremony, Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture Alexis Tam announced that the revitalization project of the Taipa-Houses Museum environs was slated for October.
