MGTO Promotional Activities in August

MGTO uses doubledecker bus advertising to promote Macao

In August, Macao offers a smorgasbord of exciting activities for visitors from every corner of the world. Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) will continue to help generate the fun and surprises with global visitors throughout the month.

Malaysia

The MGTO Malaysia representitive has arranged for 10 doubledecker buses travel across Kuala Lumpur to promote the 28th edition of the Macao International Fireworks Display Contest, 63rd Macao Grand Prix, 34th Macao International Marathon and other great events in Macao. The doubledecker bus is the most used public transport in KL, providing new experiences for passengers as they offer different view from the bus. The buses carry 390,000 passengers daily on weekdays.

Meanwhile, leading travel agents Smart Holidays and Eden Tours are pooling their resources for joint advertising and booth decorations in conjunction with Malaysia International Travel Mart in Kuala Lumpur on 5th and 6th August, to promote Macao and Pearl River Delta packages. Smart Holidays and Eden Tours are advertising on the official travel supplements of the travel fairs, with flyers and banners leveraging exposure of Destination Macao to visitors. The objective of the campaign is to attract at least 400 visitors to Macao between August and December 2016.

USA

The MGTO USA representitive and Hong Kong Tourism Board will visit New York and Philadelphia between 1st and 5th August to meet with tour operators, key agents (planners) and airlines to talk about Macao and increase existing product offerings as well as share 2016 and 2017 co-op marketing campaigns. In addition, the representitive will conduct a co-op programme by advertising Macao deals via Travel Spike between 1st August and 30th September, as well as joint co-operation with EVA Airways, which will offer US$655 roundtrip fares to Macao from all six EVA USA Gateways from 15th July to 15th August.
