MGTO Promotional Activities in October

CPITMP will join with RR Radio to host a grand Macao promotional event in the largest shopping mall in Lisbon

In October, Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) will conduct different promotional activities in (in order of appearance) Korea, USA, Portugal, Japan, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Taiwan region. The Office will co-operate with various places to attract more visitors to Macao at the end of the tourist season this year.

Korea

Macao will participate in the Asian Film Market - the most famous film festival in Korea and the 21st edition this year - from 8th to 11th October to promote the Macao film industry debuting via the 1st International Film Festival & Awards • Macao in December.

MGTO Korea representatives will participate in the 3rd Mode Tour Travel Mart 2016 (MTM) from 13th to 16th October with a booth decorated to promote Macao as a tourist destination for travellers visiting in the Autumn/Winter period. It will also promote upcoming events such as the Macau Grand Prix via a 4D rider, enabling visitors to 'virtually' experience the world-famous motor racing event held every November. On the first day of the travel fair, MGTO will organize a travel seminar with some 100 Modetour partners to increase Macao product sales for the Autumn/Winter season and update tour product information.

USA

On 6th October, MGTO-USA will showcase Macanese cuisine at the leading Asian food event series in the USA – LUCKYRICE - at their first ever event in Texas. New flight routes on EVA to Macao will also be shared alongside Macanese treats to a captivated, affluent audience.

MGTO-USA will also host a joint roadshow with the Hong Kong Tourism Board in Boston on 25th October and in Chicago on 27th October. Tour operators, agency owners, and travel advisors will meet with Macao and Hong Kong industry partners from premier hotels, destination management companies, and various attractions to educate American market leaders to ultimately increase visitation.

Portugal

The 'Through the Streets of Macau' is organized jointly by CPITMP and the Association of Photography and Alcochete Culture, with winning Portuguese photographer Rui Palha's work on display in the Evora Museum between 13th October and 31st December.

A grand promotional event of Macao in the largest shopping mall in Lisbon (Colombo) jointly organized by Renascença Radio (RR Radio), the most popular nationwide radio in Portugal, highlighted the Macau Grand Prix with the set-up of an F3 simulator and Guia circuit. A number of radio promotions will feature on its associated communication channels including social media and website on the days prior to the event, with a special radio programme entirely devoted to Macao, to be broadcast live to the entire country.

In addition, CPITMP - a travel fair involving the popular operator and agency Abreu - will promote Macao on 22nd and 23rd October. Meanwhile, the the first edition of the Macao Book Forum will include a book fair featuring books and publications from Macao, a number of seminars, talks and book launch events.

Japan

MGTO-Japan plans to organize a media familiarization trip featuring the 30th Macao International Music Festival, one of Macao's popular annual events, from 23rd to 27th October.

Hong Kong

To promote Macao as a Dream Wedding Destination, MGTO's Hong Kong Representative Office will organize a fam tour for wedding planners and media on 27th and 28th October, showcasing Macao's world class banquet facilities, accommodation and romantic pre-wedding shooting sites in addition to building strategic relationships with key stakeholders in the wedding industry.

Malaysia

MGTO Malaysia representatives will showcase 'Experience Macao Your Own Style' promotional video plus upcoming events on the digital Panel at Jalan Raja Chulan, located in KL City Centre.

In addition, MGTO Malaysia representatives will set up a truss system with a replica of a Formula 3 car along the busiest main road of KL City Centre to promote the 63rd Macau Grand Prix.

Taiwan Region

MGTO Taiwan will organize an 'Experience Macao Your Own Style' roadshow in Taipei Station, utilising props and backgrounds featuring Macao characteristics to showcase Macao's ambience. In addition, via VR technology, Taiwanese citizens will be able to experience Macao 360o in a virtual reality video clip. MGTO will also promote the Macau Grand Prix through fun-filled, interactive games. Consumers can also indulge themselves in the charisma of Macao through performances, delicacies and more. Travel agents are also invited to sell tour packages and encourage consumers to plan their own trip to Macao.

The ATT4FUN shopping mall entrance, located in the Xinyi Shopping District in Taipei, will be decorated with elements of Macao, the Macao Shopping Festival and the Macao Light Festival, with performers showcasing the Macao City Fringe Festival and 'Parade through Macao, Latin City' artistic ambience. In addition, interactive games will be set up during the weekends for consumers, giving them the opportunity to win prizes including a 3-day, 2-night trip to Macao.
