The Land, Public Works and Transport Bureau has announced the hotel construction statistics of the second quarter of 2016, noting that 15 hotels were under construction in the first half of the year, including eight projects on the Macao Peninsula, five projects in the Cotai reclamation area, one in Taipa and one in Coloane, offering 10,711 hotel rooms in all, a decrease of 14.47 per cent year-on-year.

Some 37 other hotel project proposals were being evaluated in the city in the first half of the year, providing another 8,811 hotel rooms - a 2.12 per cent increase year-on-year - including 30 projects on the Macao Peninsula, one project in Taipa, four in the Cotai reclamation area, and two in Coloane.
