A little while ago, the Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau (IACM) asked Macao residents to respond to the activity 'Let's think of names for the giant panda twins'. Consequently, the Macao SAR Government has decided to name the pair of giant panda cubs Jian Jian and Kang Kang. IACM also held the 'Giant Panda Cubs' 100-Day Celebration' on 3rd October in Seac Pai Van Park, to celebrate the panda cubs' 100 days birthday.

The activities attracted qualified suggestions from 3,587 individuals. The names were selected by IACM and Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding.

The prize presentation ceremony of the naming contest also took place on the occasion of 'Giant Panda Cubs' 100-Day Celebration' activity. The Launching Ceremony of the Jian Jian and Kang Kang 100-Day Commemorative Gold also took place at the activity. The commemorative gold, released by Bank of China (BOC) Macau Branch and approved by the Panda Fund, will open for public subscription in the middle of November, with BOC Macau annually donating part of the revenue from the commemorative gold to the Panda Fund.

In addition to the opening ceremony of the exhibition of giant pandas in Macao the park organised activities including the Panda's container planting workshop, Panda's light clay musical box workshop, Colouring Panda workshop, Happy Family photo area and Understand the Animal Protection Law.
