Michelin Guide Hong Kong Macao 2017 Recognizes More Macao Restaurants

Michelin Guide Hong Kong Macao 2017, published on 9th November, includes 19 Macao restaurants evaluated by the Guide, with three restaurants added to last year's tally.

Robuchon au Dôme and The Eight retain the highest accolade of 3 stars; two-star restaurants comprise Golden Flower, Jade Dragon and The Tasting Room plus Feng Wei Ju and Mizumi, which climbed one rung to the two-star category; one-star recipients are King, 8 1/2 Otto e Mezzo, Shinji, Terrazza, The Golden Peacock, The Kitchen, Tim's Kitchen, Wing Lei and Zi Yat Heen, while Lai Heen, Pearl Dragon and Ying earned one star for the first time.

The 2017 Michelin Guide Hong Kong Macao has named the 75 eateries that received the prestigious Bib Gourmand award in the new edition, too, identifying those restaurants which charge a maximum price of MOP300 and provide outstanding food. These 12 restaurants are: A Lorcha, Café Leon, Chan Seng Kei, Hou Kong Chi Kei, Lou Kei, Tou Tou Koi, Cheong Kei, Din Tai Fung (COD), IFT Educational Restaurant, Luk Kei Noodle, and Portuguese restaurant Castiço. Hotpot restaurant Xin earned the Bib Gourmand for the first time.

Much anticipated, the street food catalogue in Macao names 12 street food outlets reflecting the local gourmet style of life in the territory: Chong Shing, Dai Gwan, Pastelaria Fong Kei, Lei's Cuisine, Lemon Cello, Lord Stow's Bakery, Mok Yee Kei, Neng Meng Wang, Sun Ying Kei, Ving Kei, Yi Shun, and the Japanese handmade ice cream shop KIKA newly recommended by the Guide.

Michelin Guide Hong Kong Macao was first issued in 2009, being the second Michelin Guide launched in Asia after Japan. Overall grading evaluates type of food, price, standard of food and quality of ingredients.
