Chief Executive Meets Macanese Diaspora

The Chief Executive (CE) of the Macao SAR, Chui Sai On, attended the opening of the Macanese Communities Reunion - Macau 2016 on 27th November. Mr. Chui also held a meeting with representatives from the Council of the Macanese Communities (CCM) and the heads of 'Casas de Macau' and other Macanese associations from around the world.

During the meeting, the CE underscored the support of and contribution made by the local and overseas Macanese communities to the development of Macao, as well as promoting Macao abroad. He also hoped that the Macanese Communities Reunion continue in the future, pointing out that the local and overseas Macanese communities are important parts of Macao society, which is being valued and given high importance by the local government in the march to further development of the territory.

The meeting was also attended by Deputy Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao SAR Chen Sixi, Secretary of Secretariat for Social Affairs and Culture Alexis Tam, Consul General of Portugal in Hong Kong and Macao Vitor Sereno and representatives of 'Casas de Macau' and Macanese associations from Portugal, the United States, Australia, Brazil, Canada and Hong Kong.
