The 2017 Annual Work Meeting of the Joint Working Committee on Tourism to Support Macao 's Aspirations to Build a World Centre of Tourism and Leisure (Joint Working Committee on Tourism) is slated to be held in Macao soon. The Joint Working Committee on Tourism will be called by the Secretariat for Social Affairs and Culture of the Macao SAR Government and China National Tourism Administration (CNTA), with the two sides reviewing the tourism situation and work undertaken in 2016, and discussing major projects for the year ahead promoting Macao as a World Centre of Tourism and Leisure.

In June 2015, the Macao SAR Government signed an agreement with CNTA to set up a Joint Working Committee on Tourism to Support Macao's Aspirations to Build a World Centre of Tourism and Leisure, with progress made since the signing of the agreement. In last year's meeting, officials from the Mainland and Macao agreed on a number of issues including new means of deepening regional tourism integration and co-operation between Macao and the Mainland, the application of diverse platforms to foster development, and the joint promotion of new tour routes and products. The parties also shared the Mainland and Macao's latest tourism trends, and exchanged ideas to strengthen co-operation on tourism industry management. The first annual meeting of the Joint Working Committee on Tourism was held in Macao and the second one in Zhuhai.
