Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) invites groups or individuals who have contributed to the tourism industry in the Asia Pacific region to apply to the evaluation committee of the 2017 PATA Gold Awards - the deadline for application is 28^th April, 2017. The Awards Ceremony will be held during PATA Travel Mart 2017 from 13^th to 15^th September, 2017 in The Venetian Macao.

Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) has continually sponsored the PATA Gold Award Luncheon and Awards Ceremony in order to encourage those who have accomplished outstanding and revolutionary achievements on behalf of the tourism industry. MGTO Director Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes remarked that the PATA Gold Awards provides an excellent opportunity for the industry to share its achievements, broadens industry horizons, and promotes the same vision of archiving the sustainable development and responsibility of the tourism industry in Asia Pacific. PATA CEO Mario Hardy has thanked MGTO for sponsoring the Awards Ceremony once again, calling upon more talented individuals and organizations from the tourism industry to apply to the evaluation committee of the 2017 PATA Gold Awards.

Judged by an international panel of experts, the Gold Awards recognise exceptional achievement in seven broad categories with 29 Gold Awards and four Grand Awards on offer, which include: Marketing Campaign (eight Gold Awards and one Grand Award), Environment (three Gold Awards and one Grand Award), Corporate Social Responsibility (one Gold Award), Heritage & Culture (two Gold Awards and one Grand Award), Education & Training (one Gold Award and one Grand Award), Marketing Media (ten Gold Awards) and Travel Journalism (four Gold Awards).
