MGTO Promotional Activities in July

Mega roadshow to feature Macau Grand Prix, cuisine and tourist attractions
Hong Kong and Macao Travel Trade Networking Meeting will strengthen communication between the Hong Kong and Macao tourism industry
Hong Kong and Macao Travel department roll out marketing promotion plans in Japan

This Summer welcomes the 5th Macao International Travel (Industry) Expo (MITE) - an important annual event that will bring many members of the travel trade from around the globe to Macao. In July, Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) will participate and organize multiple activities (in chronological order) in Hong Kong, Japan, the Taiwan region and Malaysia to promote the many facets of the city which attract visitors to Macao.

Hong Kong

The Experience Macao Your Own Style Summer Roadshow will be held in Olympian City on 1st and 2nd July. This event seeks to promote Macao's Summer activities, with travel agents providing special travel packages to attract more Hong Kong visitors to visit Macao.

MGTO's Hong Kong representative will organize a familiarization trip to Macao from 6th to 7th July for Hong Kong incentive agents, Hong Kong travel agents and members of the Association of National Tourist Office Representatives in Hong Kong, to visit the opening of the 5th MITE. In addition, the Networking Meeting for Hong Kong and Macao Travel Trade will be held on 26th July. This event seeks to provide a platform for Hong Kong travel agents to connect with Macao trading partners, enhancing mutual co-operation as well as informing Hong Kong travel agents about the latest Macao tourism development.


Seven key travel industry professionals from Japan will participate in MITE 2017 in grassroots efforts to develop a base for future participants and exhibitors in the upcoming MITE beyond this year.

MGTO Japan, together with Hong Kong Tourism Board, will conduct a road trip of travel marketing seminars in Nagasaki and Miyazaki in the Kyushu region on 11th and 13th July. Events will include a travel professionals lunch for networking. In addition, a Media Fam Tour will be held between 16th and 20th July featuring Summer activities in Macao, showcasing the widening image of Macao as an ideal destination suitable for all generations, especially for family travellers, embracing culture, history, entertainment and leisure.

Taiwan region

MGTO will support four travel agencies offering Macao travel packages in the Macao Product Sales Booth in the Taipei Summer Travel Exhibition, slated from 14th to 17th July in Taipei.


MGTO Malaysia will hold the 'Macao Mega Sale' Roadshow in Gurney Plaza, Penang on 27th & 30th July. This roadshow will highlight Macao's major event and festival the 64th Macau Grand Prix in addition to Macao gastronomy and attractions to the public via booth decorations and interactive activities.

During July, MGTO Malaysia will collaborate with AirAsia BIG to promote Macao's accommodation, gourmet delights, attractions and activities via Hot Deals on AirAsia BIG Prepaid Website. Besides providing Hot Deals involving Macao merchandise, MGTO Malaysia will also conduct this campaign through KOL's engagement, online advertising and joint roadshow.
