Taxi Flagfall Fare now MOP19

The taxi flagfall fare rose on 23rd July

Following affordability considerations of Macao residents and cost pressures on the taxi trade, the Macao SAR Government Transport Bureau (DSAT) announced that the flagfall fare (for the first 1.6km) would rise from MOP17 to MOP19 at midnight on 23rd July.

The original taxi fare of MOP2 per 260 metres rose to MOP2 per 240 metres, with a new additional MOP5 introduced for passengers hiring a taxi from taxi stands in Taipa Ferry Terminal and the University of Macao. Charges during the waiting period remain the same. DSAT also arranged adjustment and recognition of taximeters for the trade, in addition to issuing a new comparison table for taxi fare adjustment in 2017 at the Motor Vehicle Inspection Centre in Cotai on 22nd July, to reflect the taxi fare adjustment.
