MGTO Promotional Activities in September

MGTO USA employs food truck to promote Macao cuisine!

From the beginning of September to December, perhaps the most exciting period of the year in Macao, Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) will launch multiple activities (in chronological order) in Hong Kong, Taiwan region, Malaysia, the United States and Japan to promote the many facets which attract visitors to Macao.

Hong Kong

To promote Macao as Wedding Destination, MGTO's Hong Kong representative hosted a product update luncheon on 1st September for wedding planners and media in Hong Kong providing them with the latest updates on Macao's wedding banquet facilities, accommodation and romantic pre-wedding photo-shooting sites.

And on 8th September, MGTO Hong Kong will co-operate with the Hong Kong Japanese Tour Operators Association (HJTOA) to organize a Product Update Luncheon for HJTOA members in order to introduce the latest information on Macao Tourism, the development of the hotel industry and festival events, and connect members of HJTOA to travel agencies prioritising Macao tourism products; on 12th September, MGTO HK will organize a Corporate Day to promote Macao as an Incentive Destination. Over one hundred Hong Kong corporate representatives at top management level will receive the latest updates on Macao tourism developments, newest incentive products available in Macao as well as news on MGTO's Travel Stimulation Programme.

Taiwan Region

MGTO will support a number of travel agencies offering Macao travel packages at Tainan Cheng Kung University Travel Fair from 1st to 4th September and Chiayi Kungping Travel Fair from 29th September to 2nd October.

Malaysia

MGTO Malaysia will participate in the 2017 Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) Fair Kuala Lumpur from 8th to 10th September, to promote Suncity Group 64th Macau Grand Prix, International Film Festival and Awards Macao (IFFAM), Macao International Marathon, Parade through Macao Latin City, Macao Light Festival and Taipa Village, among other tourism products.

MGTO Malaysia will also use an interactive touch screen panel and food tasting counter at the event to promote Macao delicacies and Food festival. Moreover, visitors who purchase Macao and Pearl River Delta packages from any participating travel agent with at least one night's stay in Macao are entitled to gift redemption at the MGTO booth.

United States

MGTO USA will host a large-scale multi-day Macao food truck activity from 14th to 19th September in New York City to showcase the food and culture of Macao. And from 19th to 20th September, MGTO USA will attend World Tourism Cities Federation (WTCF) Los Angeles Fragrant Hill Tourism Summit 2017, themed 'Impact of Globalization on World Tourism City Development'.

The summit will highlight the common participation and cohesive force of all members to improve the joint development and exploration of the tourism industry.

Japan

To further promote Macao as a travel destination to the travel trade, media and general consumers, MGTO Japan will participate in Tourism EXPO 2017 from 21st to 24th September. And in The Macao Travel Trade Women's Club, held in Osaka in September, MGTO Japan will introduce Macao inspired hamburgers in cooperation with national fast food chain First Kitchen.
