The 22^nd Session of the UNWTO General Assembly - will be held in Chengdu, Sichuan Province from 11^th to 16^th September - themed 'Tourism and the SDGs: Journey to 2030'. The Deputy Director of the Macao Government Tourism Office, Cecilia Tse and Head of Organisational Planning and Development Department, Ricky Hoi, among others, will attend several meetings and sessions.

Held every two years, the UNWTO General Assembly is the most important international meeting to be attended by senior tourism officials and high-level representatives of the private sector from around the world. Meetings and activities this year include an opening ceremony, High-level Segment, Plenary sessions, Regional Committee Meetings for different regions, Tourism and Sustainability Committee Meeting plus Tourism and Competitiveness Committee Meeting, among others.

Of these, the Macao delegation will attend events of Welcome Ceremony & Dinner, Official Opening, different working group meetings, and High-level Segment. An Associate Member of UNWTO since 1981, Macao has actively and regularly participated in the Organization's meetings.
