Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2018 and 2019 to be Revealed in Macao

Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2018 awards presentation ceremony will be hosted in Wynn Palace on 27th March

The organizer of the world famous gourmet award 'Asia's 50 Best Restaurants' and Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) announced in November that Macao will be the destination for the awards presentation ceremony and other related activities in 2018 and 2019. Asia's 50 Best Restaurants 2018 awards presentation ceremony will be hosted in Wynn Palace on 27th March.

Famous Asian chefs, leading figures from the F&B industry, and international media will gather together to witness the list of Asia's 50 Best Restaurants. Participants can also contribute to the Forum, introduced for the first time in the ceremony, to discuss the latest developments in the F&B industry and new trends in the industry.

The editor of Asia's 50 Best Restaurants, William Drew, said that Macao is the new destination for the awards presentation ceremony, with Singapore and Bangkok holding them for three and two years, respectively. The diversified food culture and well-developed F&B industry, he said, reflected the city's rich history.

MGTO Director Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes said that Macao is pleased to become the destination of the awards presentation ceremony, and that Macao looked forward to welcoming top chefs from Asia and other participants to take a bite out of the local gourmet cuisine.

She also said that Macao has a vibrant and diverse food culture, which included local food stalls to high-grade restaurants, fulfilling all the requirements for such an event. She also observed that the event was a wonderful way to celebrate Macao's new listing on the UNESCO Creative Cities Network in the field of Gastronomy.

Asia's 50 Best Restaurants list - published by William Reed Business Media in 2002 - is selected each year by the 300-member qualifications committee whose members include gastronomic critics, chefs, restaurant owners and gourmands.

Members base their decisions upon their dining experiences of the past 18 months, listing their favourite restaurants. Each year, the list can demonstrate the foresight of experts in the field and important trends in F&B.
