MGTO Undertakes Diverse Promotional Activities in December

A Hong Kong media fam tour experiences the latest Macao tourist attractions

It all happens in Macao in December! With 2nd International Film Festival & Awards‧Macao, Macao International Marathon, Macao International Parade, Macao Light Festival, Handover celebrations, Christmas and New Year's Eve providing a kaleidoscope of colour, fun and surprises for residents and visitors alike. Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) has organized multiple activities (in chronological order) in Hong Kong, the United States and Malaysia to promote these events in a little city just bursting with big festivities and events.

Hong Kong

MGTO Hong Kong has organized a 'Friends of Macao Gathering' at The Mira Hong Kong on 1st December to express the city's gratitude to Friends of Macao, especially to those who have energetically supported Macao tourism. The event serves as an effective platform for representatives from Hong Kong and Macao travel trade to communicate and exchange ideas on the 2018 sales plan in a casual and friendly atmosphere.

In addition, MGTO Hong Kong has organized a networking cocktail party for the Incentive Sector at Luxe Manor Dada Bar + Lounge to promote Macao as an incentive destination, an event expected to be attended by over a hundred corporate guests, event organizers and Macao counterparts.

Macao Light Festival is one of the highlighted mega events of Macao. To enable media and bloggers to experience this special occasion as well as other tourist attractions and facilities in Macao, a media fam tour will be held on 5th and 6th December with 13 media bloggers from Hong Kong.

The media will visit the Festival's facilities and join the most recent exhibition in Macao Learn & Play! teamLab Future Park in MGM. The tour is designed to enhance the media's understanding of Macao and subsequent coverage plus increased exposure of Macao in the Hong Kong Market.

United States

MGTO-USA will attend the Signature Travel Network Sales Meeting in Las Vegas from 7th to 10th December to promote Macao and connect with over 2,200 travel industry professionals, including Signature travel consultants, managers and agency owners through one-on-one appointments, networking sessions and trade show forums.

MGTO-USA will also meet with US-based travel agents and agency owners to showcase the latest tourist attractions and tourism information about Macao. MGTO also aim to enhance their knowledge of Macao, assisting US-based travel agents to create more suitable travel packages for their clients. MGTO-USA will handpick qualified travel agents with top-selling records of Asia itineraries as candidates for consideration for future agent fam trips.

Malaysia

MGTO Malaysia will promote Destination Macao by advertising on The Garden Mall's wall mounted lightbox implementing the Augmented Reality (AR) Experience in December to experience the glamour of Macao. The latest information on Macao travel packages will also be provided on this occasion.
