2017 Macao Galaxy Entertainment International Marathon

The Olympic Sports Centre Indoor Pavilion marks both start line and finish line

Co-organised by Macao SAR Government Sports Bureau and the General Association of Athletics of Macau, the 2017 Macao Galaxy Entertainment International Marathon sets off on 3rd December. This year, the total participant quota was increased to 12,000 in order to enhance Macao's sports development. Celebrating its 36th edition, Macao International Marathon has become one of the highlight events of the year in the city, attracting long distance runners from around the world.

The start line and finish line of the races is set up in the Olympic Sports Centre Indoor Pavilion. Marathon and Half Marathon runners take off at 6:00am, while Mini Marathon competitors start at 6:15am. The routes for both Marathon and Half Marathon remain the same, passing over Governador Nobre de Carvalho Bridge, by Anim'Arte NAM VAN and A-Ma Temple, a component of The Historic Centre of Macao, and return from Sai Van Bridge, a route which fully exposes participants to the beauty of Macao.

Active Group Trophy for the Mini Marathon awards groups fielding the largest number of runners in the following categories: schools, sports associations, government registered organisations and public and private entities.
