Temporary Weekend Traffic Ban Instigated in St. Paul’s Ruins District

A pedestrian zone has been implemented in Calçada de S. Francisco Xavier, effective Saturdays and Sundays from 2:00pm to 6:00pm

In order to consolidate traffic safety in Largo da Companhia de Jesus and balance the traffic needs of local citizens, the Macao SAR Government Public Security Police Force (PSP) and the Transport Bureau (DSAT) announced a temporary ban on traffic every Saturday and Sunday from 2:00pm to 6:00pm in Calçada de S. Francisco Xavier, effective 9th October, while traffic arrangements would remain normal from Mondays to Fridays.

Due to the many pedestrians in Largo da Companhia de Jesus during the Chinese National Day holiday period, the PSP and DSAT implemented a ban on traffic in Calçada de S. Francisco Xavier from noon to 6:00pm every day from 30th September. Following the end of the holiday period, the number of visitors to St. Paul's Ruins has decreased thus in the interests of traffic safety in Largo da Companhia de Jesus and to meet the traffic needs of local citizens the PSP and DSAT have instigated a temporary ban on traffic in Calçada de S. Francisco Xavie on the weekends.
