MGTO Attends Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Bay Area Travel Trade Co-operation Summit

The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Bay Area Travel Trade Co-operation Summit - held in Hong Kong on 21st December, 2017 - featured a tourism trade travel mart, a signing ceremony for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Bay Area Travel Trade Co-operation Agreement, keynote speeches plus luncheon and press interview session. Some 300 guests and travel trade representatives from the Bay Area attended the Summit, including Director of Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes plus members of the travel trade and media from Macao.

During the Summit, representatives from the Travel Industry Council of Hong Kong, Travel Industry Council of Macau, Guangzhou Travel Services Association, Shenzhen Travel Agencies Association, Zhuhai Travel Service Industry Association, Foshan Tourism Association, Huizhou Tourism Association, Dongguan Travel Agencies Association, Zhongshan Tourism Association, Tourism Industry Association of Jiangmen and Zhaoqing Tourism Association signed the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Bay Area Travel Trade Co-operation Agreement witnessed by attending guests.

The accord seeks to enhance communication, exchanges and visits by the travel trade of the involved cities and generate the discussion of plans for co-operation whilst exploring new multi-destination tour routes and the joint creation of a powerful tourism brand.

The travel trade from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Bay Area further communicated and exchanged ideas with each other during the tourism trade travel mart, discussing, in particular, the future outlook and business opportunities that the Bay Area presented. The themes of the different keynote speeches at the Summit addressed the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Bay Area Planning and Development Outlook; Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Bay Area Infrastructure and Transportation Development Blueprint; and Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Bay Area Tourism Resources and Opportunities.
